We are not the best marketers and promoters of your business

by July 25th, 2007 Patrick Greer

Wow, that title sounds like business suicide doesn’t it? It not quite what you think. The person who is the most knowledgeable about your business and should be the most passionate is you not your marketer, advertiser, evangelist or whoever it is you have hired to promote your business. It is true I will mention my clients in a press release of a recent project we have completed or may mention them in casual conversation but the company I am most passionate about is my own and I’m not going to lie, this blog posting is yet another way of promoting SpinningSilk Multimedia and what we stand do. You may think our job is to promote our clients work. That is not true. Our job is to provide tools in either print or electronic media that help our clients promote their own business because they are the experts in what they do. Ron McDaniel in his book, Buzzoodle Buzz Marketing advocates the principle that every employee of a company is responsible for the promotion and sales within that company.

Brad Issac recent wrote a great series of articles on Winning Through Effective Self Promotion;

We can create web site with great content management systems that have blogging functionality where you can post articles everyday but we don’t know what new content is important for your audience like you do. We can create eye catching and memorable business card and brochures but it’s up to you to hand them out and network with potential clients face to face. It’s my goal to create the most user friendly web sites, innovative communication channels and memorable graphics that help you drive passion to your customers. Do you have some great tools in your box but you never use them? Why not? Is it a time management, lack of knowledge or fear that keeps you from using them? Have we already provided you with tools to help you get the word out but you’re still unsure how use them to the fullest? Please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would love to answer your questions and provide training to help you succeed.
