Trademark
by October 1st, 2008 Heather GreerIt’s official–Spinning Silk Multimedia™ is now a trademark of Spinning Silk, LLC. We received an official letter in the mail recently letting us know it was being placed in the trademark database. Plus, we saw our lawyer briefly at a recent Tech After 5 meeting who mentioned it to us to make sure we knew.
Tell us about your trademarks–do you have one? Maybe you have several? Why did you decide to get a trademark?

I’d be curious to know why YOU decided to trademark Spinning Silk Media. (I’m sure it wasn’t a decision you made lightly!)

It was a mutual decision with my other business owner (and wife). It’s the largest of our division, we’re growing and we wanted to protect that brand name for present and future endeavors. As to why we chose the name to begin with our major “product” is web development. The “spinning silk” name is kind of a play on the concept of the World Wide Web. As in a spider’s web. Silk is also one of the most light weight yet strongs substances in nature. We want our new media products to be light weight yet strong enough to effectively bring in new clients and/or members for those we develop our new media products for.
