Podcast Review - This Week in Photography
by July 8th, 2008 Patrick GreerIn addition to working on producing our own podcast I want to pique your interest in other podcasts out there as well. Before I go any further I will have to admit that I was sort of prompted to feature this particular podcast because of a contest they are running but other than that they were a couple of other things that prompted me to write about This Week in Photography. Believe it or not, according to our records, the #1 search term that brings people to our web site is photography! If you have meet us in local networking meetings you might be inclined to think the web design is our core business but while we are “new media” focused we offer a breadth of media related services and one of the most requested is photography.
I make it a habit to subscribe to various podcasts related to the work I do and quite a few of them involve photography. This Week on Photography is one of the core podcasts I stay subscribed to for the following reasons;
1.) The production and sound quality is top notch. Very easy on the ears.
2.) The podcast features a round table of Photography professionals and passionate enthusiasts instead of just one host so you go a variety of opinions in one show.
3.) It features equipment reviews, techniques, news and contests or challenges
For the most part the show is audio and while that may seem a little odd for a show about photography I tend to enjoy audio podcasts as I listen to most of them away from a computer screen however they do have an occasional video feature a techinque like how to light your subject or showing a special piece of equipment.
One of the features of the web sites we develop for our clients is the ability to add text, photos and other media through a user friendly content management system. It seems like everyone has a digital camera these days but I can tell you from experience that knowing special techniques and what your eqiupment is capable of makes all the difference.
If you want to learn more about how to do more with your camera I would suggest listening to this podcast on a regular basis. I have some other podcasts I will feature in the days and weeks ahead. Do you have any other photography podcasts or tutorial web sites you would like me to feature on this blog?
