$500 - a small price to pay
by June 22nd, 2007 Patrick Greer$500 is a small price to pay to give innovation and great service to our existing and future customers. We strive to be the premiere multimedia company that offers web, print and other portable media services to our clients in Greenville as well as the upstate and clients we serve elsewhere in the nation and world.
Back in January I posted my thoughts on the iPhone which will be released next week though a partnership between Apple, Inc. and the new at&t . I still stand by the statements I made back then, only more so. I lot of people may think I or my company is crazy for paying $500 for a phone. As I said in that previous post if I was just interested in a phone, yes, that would be very crazy and a foolish way to spend money but anyone who knows me well knows that if I spend big money on something it’s for a very good reason. Normally I can be very frugal and I hate to spend money on things I can get cheaper elsewhere. On the other hand I take pride in being innovative and spotting innovative trends that I know will take hold. Why do I “know” they iPhone will take hold? Well, one reason is I have been waiting for a device like this for years and I do mean years and no one as come close. The interface is extremely user friendly and I know I won’t lose my pointing device unless I am in a horrible accident.
It’s my desire to use the iPhone not just for my personal joy but as a business tool where I can learn from video podcasts, show web sites to clients in places I would not have been able to before, provide easier ways for potential customers to get in touch with my clients, etc. You may have seen the short commercials but in anticipation Apple has posted a great tutorial video on how to use the iPhone. if only all user manuals could be so pleasurable to watch.
You may hear a lot nay-sayers saying it’s crazy to spend so much on a phone and if all you really need is just a basic phone then no don’t buy an iPhone but if you would like the advantage of using a web browser almost anywhere, “dialing” a number just by touching it, watching pre-recorded videos, a camera and of course a user friendly phone with features like “visual voice mail” then you may want to consider the iPhone and get rid of some of those other devices thus simplifying your life with a simple to use device.
